If META Trends (cultural consensus according to 70+ forecasts) offer us the largest common denominators of what’s “trending,” then we still have an incomplete picture.

What isn’t widely discussed, falling between the cracks of discourse?

The overlooked is needed to supplement the most obvious shifts.

I asked +130 cultural researchers from around the world,

“What’s nobody talking about, but should?”

I.e. What’s the single most disproportionate cultural trend? What has the biggest social impact relative to smallest public conversation?

This doesn’t dismiss META findings, but offers us the inverse. More signal.

While many of these surveyed voices may have (likely) contributed to an industry report analyzed via META, individual, anonymous contributions offer us another (likely) more honest voice. Here we’re balancing public, organizational claims with private, individual perspectives.

With responses coded into multiple categories, here are the top thematic clusters of what’s most overlooked.
