What The Costco Guys on Fallon reveal about our media environment
In October 2024, A.J., Big Justice and The Rizzler (AKA The Costco Guys) found themselves on Jimmy Fallon's couch for seven minutes.
For those fortunate enough to live under a rock and are unaware of the gang, The Costco Guys are a wide-eyed, cheery, Florida-based father and son duo (A.J. and Big Justice) who review things from Costco by rating them with one to five “Booms.” (More booms, the better.) Costco’s 750 cal Double Chunk Chocolate Cookie is their “Hotel California” greatest hit.
After gaining unprecedented popularity with +2.5M TikTok followers, sponsorship deals, and a reportedly (declined) collab with a presidential candidate, their fandom sustained past typical internet novelty. Since, they added The Rizzler (a non-relative, 3rd grader) into the mix, a beloved sidekick, building a Costco Universe of characters complete with personal logos and catchphrases.
To understand the cheesiness of The Costco Guys: consider The Big Bang Theory plus the most overused Office quotes, multiplied by The Wiggles, all to the power of Minions.
Anyway, these guys were on Jimmy Fallon.
